The Tavda Caves are an impressive natural site, a true treasure of Altai. His visit is an exciting journey into the history and culture of the region, which will bring a lot of emotions and leave a deep mark.

These caves are more than 1 million 250 thousand years old. They are famous for serving as a haven for ancient people in different eras. It was inhabited during the Iron and Bronze Ages (as evidenced by the finds of archaeologists), and Old Believers lived here in the 19th century. Even during the Civil War, these caves were inhabited by people who were waiting out the troubles far from civilization.

The Tavda complex consists of about 30 caves.

The Tavda caves are of karst origin, they are formed by the action of groundwater.

Several other popular tourist spots are located near the Tavda caves, including Kamyshlinsky Waterfall, Lakes Manzherok and Aya.

According to legends, it is in the Tavda caves that Kolchak's gold is hidden.
